Experience the rich history, vibrant culture, and breathtaking landscapes of St. Vincent on this professionally guided island excursion. Beginning at the Kingstown Cruise Ship Terminal, this journey takes you along the scenic Leeward coast, blending historical insight with natural beauty and authentic local experiences.
Your journey begins with a drive through the capital city, Kingstown. Your guide will introduce you to key historical landmarks, including the Central Police Station, Financial Complex, Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, and the Cenotaph, offering insight into the island’s colonial and modern heritage.
Continue through the vibrant Market Square, where local vendors sell fresh produce and goods. Drive along “Back Street” while learning about the Methodist, Anglican, and Roman Catholic churches, reflecting the island’s strong religious and cultural roots.
Visit Fort Charlotte for panoramic views before joining the Leeward Highway (Nelson Mandela Highway). Pass key sites including Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, Victoria Park, and the historic Botanical Gardens. A brief stop will be made at Buccament Bay Lookout for photos (approx. 5 minutes).
Travel to Layou, one of the earliest French settlements and once home to the indigenous Carib people. Discover its historical significance and enjoy a short photo stop (approx. 5 minutes).
Explore Barrouallie, established in 1719 and once the capital of St. Vincent. Known for its fishing industry—especially “Blackfish”—this town offers a glimpse into traditional coastal life (approx. 10 minutes)
Visit the iconic Wallilabou Bay, filming location for Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. This scenic bay is a favorite among cruise visitors (approx. 15 minutes).
Drive past the Cumberland Hydro Power Development, an important renewable energy project that contributes to the island’s power supply.
Stop for photos near Troumaca with stunning views of La Soufrière Volcano (4,049 ft above sea level). On clear days, you may also see the island of St. Lucia in the distance.
Visit Chateaubelair, a charming fishing town on the Leeward coast. Known for its authentic Caribbean atmosphere, friendly locals, and nearby natural attractions, it offers a genuine cultural experience
Enjoy a short rainforest hike to the beautiful Dark View Falls. Cross the Richmond River via a bamboo or standard bridge and discover two cascading waterfalls with natural pools. Relax and take in the serene surroundings (approx. 30 minutes).
Conclude your journey with leisure time at Buccament Beach. Swim, snorkel, or simply relax by the sea (approx. 1 hour).
