Itinerary

6-6.5 hoursSan Salvador

Visit San Salvador’s main streets and monuments, its main residential areas, its historical center, which includes the magnificent Metropolitan Cathedral, the National Palace, and the National Theater, all of which were designated national monuments in 1979, as well as El Rosario Church, Plaza Libertad, the San Salvador handcraft market, and the municipal market of Antiguo Cuscatlán. Visit San Salvador’s volcano in the afternoon; it is only 25 kilometers away. This volcano, also known as ‘ElBoquerón’ is located in a national park where you can take a reviving eco-walk along the unpaved trails and take in the expansive views of the crater and its unique ‘volcancito’ or ‘little volcano’ inside. Traveling is equally impressive. You will be able to see the lovely city of San Salvador in the late afternoon when you arrive back. Visit Santa Tecla City at the conclusion and stroll through its main streets and avenues, which include the well-known ‘Paseo del Carmen,’El Carmen Church, and the city’s palace.
