    Explore the historic heart of Nassau around Parliament Square, with its distinctive colonial-era buildings and monuments. Guests learn about the development of Nassau, Bahamian government and the city’s transition from a colonial settlement into the modern capital Downtown Nassau contains approximately 20 blocks of historic architecture, monuments, museums, murals and modern Bahamian cultural attractions.     Queen's Staircase & Fort Fincastle

    Walk to the famous Queen’s Staircase, a limestone landmark historically associated with the route between Fort Fincastle and Nassau. The staircase was carved between 1793 and 1794 by enslaved people. Continue to Fort Fincastle, constructed around 1793 on Bennet’s Hill as part of Nassau’s historic defenses. Guests can hear about the fort’s military role and its connection to the development of the city.

    Queen's Staircase & Fort Fincastle

    Walk to the famous Queen’s Staircase, a limestone landmark historically associated with the route between Fort Fincastle and Nassau. The staircase was carved between 1793 and 1794 by enslaved people. Continue to Fort Fincastle, constructed around 1793 on Bennet’s Hill as part of Nassau’s historic defenses.
