This 4-day journey begins in Georgetown with a domestic flight into the rainforest, followed bya transfer to Iwokrama River Lodge where you enjoy lunch, dinner, and a nocturnal wildlife boat tour. Your journey begins in Georgetown with a transfer to Ogle International Airport for a scheduled domestic flight into Guyana’s interior. You will fly over vast stretches of untouched rainforest to Lethem or the Fair View Airstrip, where you are met and transferred by 4×4 vehicle to then Iwokrama River Lodge, located along the Essequibo River. Upon arrival, you check into your
comfortable river-facing cabin and enjoy a freshly prepared lunch made with local ingredients .
The afternoon is at leisure to relax in hammocks, enjoy the river views, or explore the lodge
surroundings. In the evening, dinner is served at the lodge, followed by a guided nocturnal boat
excursion where you may encounter black caiman, frogs, and other nocturnal wildlife
You start your day with breakfast at the lodge before heading out for early morning
birdwatching, where you may spot macaws, toucans, and parrots in one of the most biodiverse
forests in Guyana . Afterward, you experience the Canopy Walkway, elevated high above the
forest floor, offering stunning views and close encounters with wildlife such as monkeys and
birds. You return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, a guided boat trip to
Indian Island allows for more wildlife viewing along the riverbanks. Dinner is served at the
lodge, followed by an optional guided night walk to discover nocturnal creatures hidden within
the fores
After breakfast, you embark on an exciting full-day excursion. You will take a boat ride to the
base of Turtle Mountain and hike to the summit, where you are rewarded with panoramic views
of the rainforest and Essequibo River. Along the way, you may encounter monkeys, birds, and
other wildlife. Alternatively, you may opt for a relaxing exploration of the Stanley Lakes,
navigating through flooded forest channels rich in biodiversity. After returning to the lodge for
lunch, you can spend the afternoon at leisure, enjoying a canoe ride or relaxing in the tranquil
setting. Later, you head out on a wildlife drive in search of animals such as deer, tapirs, and
possibly jaguars. Dinner is served at the lodge to end the day.
On your final day, you enjoy breakfast before taking a guided nature walk near the lodge, where
your guide introduces you to the rich plant life and smaller wildlife of the rainforest. After
returning to the lodge, you prepare for departure and transfer to the airstrip for your return flight
to Georgetown, marking the end of your unforgettable rainforest adventure
