Arrive in San Salvador, El Salvador’s vibrant capital city. Depart early from Playa El Tunco for a full-day overland journey to San Pedro Sula, Honduras.The driver will drop you off at to the King Quality or Tica Bus terminal in San Salvador (about 1.5 hours). It’s best to leave by 5:00 AM to catch a prestige-class international bus, which typically departs San Salvador around 7:00–8:00 AM. Board your luxury coach, which offers wide reclining seats, A/C, restrooms, and sometimes snacks or light meals on board. The ride to San Pedro Sula takes approximately 8–9 hours, including a border crossing at El Amatillo or El Poy. At the border, you’ll briefly exit the bus to clear customs and immigration on both sides; the bus company staff will guide you through the process. Arrive in San Pedro Sula by late afternoon or early evening. From the terminal, take a short taxi ride to your hotel or tour meeting point. Use the evening to rest and prepare for your Honduras adventure beginning the next day.
