Immerse yourself on a scenic hike that takes you to enjoy unforgettable views of Nelson’s Dockyard and more when you book this hiking tour. Your scenic 3.5-hour hike includes an expert local tour guide who will lead you on a hiking adventure to take in views of sites like the Pillars of Hercules and along forest trails to hop over large boulders. You’ll also enjoy comfortable roundtrip transportation via an air-conditioned vehicle, water to quench your thirst, and a water pouch to hold your belongings for your convenience. With the chance to enjoy nature and Antigua’s breathtaking views on an easy hike that requires no hiking experience, this island hike excursion is ideal for beginner hikers, outdoor enthusiasts, and culture connoisseurs. Your island hiking adventure kicks off as you meet with your local tour guide at the Heritage Quay Pier. Follow your guide on a scenic 30-minute island drive on a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle to your hike’s starting point. As you follow your guide, you’ll get to catch spectacular views of a wide selection of landmark sites, including the iconic Pillars of Hercules, which sits at the mouth of the English Harbour. You’ll get to admire the majestic natural formation of this stunning limestone rock carved by rain, sea, and wind. Next, head to the island’s top to capture breathtaking views of Antigua and the islands that kiss the horizon with a visit to the 18th-century Nelson’s Dockyard. You’ll get a chance to admire the stunning architecture and views of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, which houses the ruins of the Clarence House and the Dockyard Museum: a former naval officer’s home. This cultural heritage center and marina once served as a safe harbor to protect cargo and ships from damage from hurricanes and also offered a great viewpoint of the neighboring island of Guadeloupe. Continue your scenic excursion at the island’s south side, reliving your childhood memories as you hop over giant boulders and watch the waves and tides crash into the shorelines. Just south of Nelson’s Dockyard, you’ll get a chance to admire the architectural grandeur of the 18th century Fort Berkeley. This famous fort was home to over 29 cannons, but now you’ll catch stunning yacht views and admire views of the islands across the Caribbean Sea like Montserrat. Wrap up your scenic hike by enjoying the stunning skyline and water views on the south side of the island before returning to your port.
