.Arrive in Wewak from Port Moresby and meet your tour guide for a transfer to Pagwi River town. After settling in, travelers board a canoe for their first Sepik River exploration. Enjoy scenic river views and a relaxing sunset cruise while observing local river life. Overnight stay in a riverside guesthouse in Pagwi
Travel to Ambunti and attend the famous Ambunti Crocodile and Arts Festival (if scheduled during the tour dates). Experience traditional sing-sing dances, decorated canoe processions, cultural storytelling, and vibrant local crafts. Guests will have opportunities to interact with artists and elders before overnighting in a riverside lodge.
Begin a motorised canoe journey upriver to remote villages along the Sepik River. Observe daily river life, local fishing techniques, and traditional houses built along the riverbanks. Stop at small villages for cultural interaction and learning experiences before spending the night in a local guesthouse.
Visit Korogo Village, known for its detailed mask carvings and traditional artwork. Travelers explore the sacred Spirit Houses (Haus Tambaran), where spiritual ceremonies and cultural traditions are preserved. Engage with village elders and learn about Sepik customs and beliefs.
Continue the cultural exploration with visits to Palimbei Village and Yimas Village. Palimbei is famous for master woodcarvers and cultural heritage, while Yimas Village offers traditional dance performances and storytelling. Guests may participate in local activities such as sago preparation or craft-making.
Travel by canoe through the wetlands of Chambri Lakes. The area is rich in birdlife and wildlife, offering excellent opportunities for nature observation. Visit lakeside villages and listen to stories from local guides about the ecological and cultural importance of the lakes.
Cruise downstream along the Sepik River back toward Pagwi. On the way, travelers may visit historic World War II sites including Mission Hill and Cape Wom. Interact with river villages before continuing to Wewak for an overnight stay in a hotel
